God's Grandeur

It doesn't matter how many sunrises I see, or how many shooting stars I witness, or how many times I feel the wind whip through my hair. I will always appreciate it all. How can I not?

In my British lit class we learned about Gerard Manley Hopkins and his ideas of Inscape and Instress.  It really struck a chord with me.

Inscape is the essential, distinctive identity of a thing, intended by God.
Instress is our inspired perception of things as they really are. It's the process that allows us to see the stamp of divinity in created things.
I just love words.
And I love this world and I love my Heavenly Father.

Also, Josh loves me.
He mixed the peanut butter for me even though he also doesn't like to do that.
It made me happy so I drew a smiley face on it.
I love you too, Joshy!!

I took all these pictures!

Sometimes I like to pretend I'm a nature photographer.
I take TONS of pictures of trees and flowers and the sky. These are just a few of my favorites.

Hot/Crazy Matrix

The hot/crazy matrix is pretty hilarious. Check it out if you want a laugh.
But watch out for the one bad word near the very end.

The Weekend

Weekends are the greatest. Seriously. Here's a perfect example of a great weekend:
On Saturday I worked out and practiced my dance. Then I did some homework and showered and did laundry. Which means it was a successful day productivity-wise. Then we went to the devotional where we got to hear from Elder Clayton and Elder M. Russell Ballard. It was AWESOME. Here are some notes for future reference:

"When God sends us tribulations, he expects us to tribulate!"
                 - Mark Twain

"Grandchildren, they're like popcorn, they come so fast."

Make time to be alone. Read from the scriptures. And talk to your Father in Heaven. Have a personal interview with yourself. Ask for the Lord's help and inspiration and guidance. Be a sheep, not a goat. Listen to the voice of the Good Shepherd and stay on the right hand side of the white line.

"It's easier when you have a companion than when you don't have one."

"I know you've all been waiting for me to talk about marriage. I wouldn't want to disappoint you."

MARRIAGE: "I don't know why we make this whole process so hard."
"Brethren, wake up."
"Beautiful girls, put on a little lipstick. Don't go around looking like men."

I love M. Russell Ballard! He's so funny and down-to-earth.

Really, it was stellar. I love being spiritually uplifted by apostles of God.
Then Josh and I went on a double date. My first double with a sibling! It was SO fun. I highly recommend Thanksgiving Point. I definitely got my fill of haunted stuff. I'm not a huge fan of scary things (I've only watched THREE scary movies), but it was a ton of fun.
I love scarves. And I love getting ready for dates. My routine usually involves showering, getting dressed, putting on make-up, and a lot of jamming out to really loud music.

Then on Sunday we had two delicious meals courtesy of Mama Rush and Kimball 6. Diego put it best...that crew is hilarious. I love hanging out with them. And Sunday singing and ward prayer are always a good time. Nice notes are the best. Tate gave me my FAVORITE nice note of all time yesterday. It was an inside joke and it totally made my night.
*happy sigh* I really love our ward. I love my calling. I love the gospel. I love my family. I love my Savior. Really, if you focus on all the good in this life, you will be much happier. Because there's a whole lotta good.

I'm obsessed with fall.

And the pretty path.

He's a stud. All my brothers are.

Joshy and Diegito, thanks for humoring me.
Because of you, I think brothers are the bomb. Thanks for teasing me (nicely, please) and for putting up with my craziness. I know I can be quite the drama queen sometimes and kind of hyper...all the time. But it's only because I love you. A TON. And I can be myself around you. I feel so blessed to have best buds like you two for my brothers. And Tommy too!!

I love God's creations.

Don't you think daisies are the friendliest flower?

- Kathleen Kelly (from You've Got Mail)
If you haven't watched that movie, you should.

Look what I found!
There were lots so they were kinda hard to miss...

I carried it all the way home.

I need to get rid of those roses...

Through my eyes

When I see this beautiful world that God has created for us, I feel so blessed and so happy to be alive.

 The sky. It's a stunner.

And then it's back to my never-ending cycle of reading and writing and studying.

Today & yesterday

I'm getting super creative with my post titles and content, I know.
To get to the point, though, I like fall, hats, and dandelions. So here are some pictures depicting my affinity for these things.

First off, my outfit:
You know, because every blogger blogs about what they wear and this is #highfashion.

This pant/sock duo is the epitome of comfort.
These pants are probably the best Nike purchase I've ever made.
Maybe because the vast majority of Nike stuff I own I got for free. #formercollegeathleteperks

My family stopped in Vegas on their way home.
Other than seeing the "Eiffel Tower," Fiona was not a fan of this city.

I took so many pictures of the fire the other night with my fam that my Google Photos app animated them into a video for me. How sweet. But yeah, I like it.

We are definitely kindred spirits.
P.S. Have I mentioned I love Anne of Green Gables? Because I do.

Now, in honor of our kinship...
and because I know Maria actually checks my blog and will appreciate this:

I'm pretty sure she doesn't know about these ones...hehe
Luv u, Ria!

Left: she drew this at church.
Right: she dyed her hair purple on a track trip.
I helped a little and I dyed a strand of mine purple, but you couldn't really tell :(

Her snapchats are the best. Obviously.

Cuz hanging out with Maria is ALWAYS a good time.

Nutshell: Maria is a ton of fun.
And if you don't have a friend like her in your life, then you're missing out.
